Manchester United manager David Moyes has insisted that the club need to use striker Robin van Persie carefully over the course of the season.
The Dutchman, who turned 30 last week, netted both goals in United's 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic in the FA Community Shield at Wembley yesterday.
"We have to be aware how we can use Robin and I will endeavour to make sure I do that to the best of my ability," the Daily Star quotes Moyes as saying. "He is so important we have got to look after him and we will do that at the right times."
Meanwhile, Moyes has reiterated that striker Wayne Rooney will not be sold this summer.
