Manchester United player-coach Ryan Giggs has described his side's performance in Sunday's Community Shield win over Wigan Athletic as "professional".
The Premier League champions earned a 2-0 victory against the FA Cup winners at Wembley Stadium, thanks to two goals from Robin van Persie.
"It was a very professional performance," BBC Sport quotes Giggs as saying.
"We were disappointed in pre-season at letting a few goals in and the main objective was to get a clean sheet.
"The first goal was a brilliant goal. It was a great start and we hope Robin van Persie can reproduce his form from last year."
United begin the defence of their Premier League title on Saturday with a trip to Swansea City.
