Marcus Rashford's former club have issued a statement denying that they asked Manchester United for a £2m payment related to the youngster's development.
It was reported recently that Fletcher Moss Rangers wanted payment from United after Rashford scored four goals in his first two United appearances.
However, the club, which admits that it is struggling financially, says that those reports are wide of the mark.
The statement read: "It has been suggested in at least one national newspaper recently that Fletcher Moss Rangers are asking Manchester United for a donation of £2m for the development of Marcus whilst with our club. This is not the case."
Rashford has enjoyed a run in the team with Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial injured, although the latter could return tonight against Watford and battle Rashford for a starting berth.
