Wayne Rooney: 'I'll never retire from international duty'

Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney insists that he will never make himself unavailable for international duty.

Wayne Rooney has revealed that he plans to remain available for international duty for the entirety of his footballing career.

The Manchester United striker was named captain of the national side earlier this year after Steven Gerrard announced his international retirement.

The 28-year-old told ESPN: "You are lucky and it is a privilege to play for England in the games that I have clocked up, and it is there now, just two more games [for 100 caps].

"I have always said that I don't want to stop playing for England after I get 100 caps, I want to get many more after that and try to do my best for the team. I love playing for England and I feel I have many more years playing for England.

"Unless told otherwise by the coaches I will always be available for selection. I am happy if they all fit in, there is no reason to think about stop playing."

England face Estonia in a Euro 2016 qualifier later today.
