Manchester United's Luke Shaw keen on future Mauricio Pochettino reunion

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw says that he would like another chance to work under Mauricio Pochettino in the future.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has revealed that he hopes to work with Mauricio Pochettino for a second time at some stage in his career.

Shaw and Pochettino worked with each other at Southampton before the pair left for United and Tottenham Hotspur respectively in the summer of 2014, but the left-back has not maintained his progress at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old has reportedly fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho and comments in the book Guillem Balague's Brave New World: Inside Pochettino's Spurs have suggested that Shaw wants a reunion with the Argentine in the future.

Shaw said: "I think with Southampton he achieved the impossible. We were one of the best footballing teams in the league. I do hope that I can play for him again one day. And I think he really wants me to play under him again."

"He used to call me his son, that's how good our relationship was. I've had lots of ups and downs, but when I was with Pochettino it was only ever up, up, up.

"He made me feel that I was the best. He'd show me clips of my games and say, 'You should do this better'. Not in a horrible way. Not I could have done better, but I should have done better, because he knows I can be better."

The England international has only made appearances in the EFL Cup this season.
