Champions Man United lost five matches during the whole of last season, but the defeat to the Magpies has seen them reach that number already.
It was also the first time that David Moyes's team have lost back-to-back matches at Old Trafford since May 2002.
Meanwhile, the victory was Newcastle's first at Old Trafford since February 1972 - a run that went back 29 matches.

Crystal Palace 2-0 Cardiff City
Marouane Chamakh scored his third Premier League goal of the campaign against the Bluebirds with what was only his fourth shot on target.
It was a goal that helped Palace to record their third victory over Cardiff in the last four meeting between the sides at Selhurst Park.
As for Cardiff, they have gone four hours and 30 minutes without finding the back of the opposition's net.

Liverpool 4-1 West Ham United
Own goals was the theme at Anfield, with three being scored. Only Sunderland versus Charlton Athletic back in 2003 has featured that many.
When Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel put through his own net, it was the second time that he has done so this term.
The search for a victory at Anfield will continue for West Ham, who have not won away in the red half of Merseyside since 1963.

Southampton 1-1 Manchester City
The draw meant that Man City have not won successive away Premier League encounters since January.
However, Sergio Aguero has been in good form of late and the Argentine now has 11 goals in his last 10 outings.
Where Southampton are concerned, the point was the first that they had collected in four matches.

Stoke City 3-2 Chelsea
Oussama Assaidi's winning goal for his first-ever in the Premier League. It was the Liverpool loanee's 10th outing in the division.
Peter Crouch also got on the scoresheet for Stoke for the first time against Chelsea since back in 2002.
Those goals meant that Jose Mourinho's Chelsea have kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 matches.

West Bromwich Albion 0-2 Norwich City
The Baggies have not been in the best of form in recent weeks and have now won just one of their last nine clashes.
Gary Hooper found the net for Norwich at The Hawthorns for what was his third in four appearances.
The victory was Norwich's fourth away from home in 29 matches.

Sunderland 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur
Sunderland's luck has been out this season, with John O'Shea's own goal the fifth that they have scored so far.
The record for most own goals in one Premier League campaign is eight, set by Leicester City in 2003-04.
Spurs, meanwhile, have won six of their previous nine matches away from White Hart Lane.

Fulham 2-0 Aston Villa
Dimitar Berbatov's penalty was the eighth that he has taken in the Premier League; he has yet to miss one.
It was also the 108th penalty that Villa have conceded since 1992 - more than any other club.
Steve Sidwell scored Fulham's other goal, which took his tally for the club to 10. Nine of those have been scored at Craven Cottage.

Arsenal 1-1 Everton
The Toffees have lost just one Premier League fixture this season, fewer than any of their rivals.
What's more, Roberto Martinez's men have not been defeated in any of their last eight matches.
German international Mesut Ozil, who scored Arsenal's goal, has now found the net four times in 12 encounters.

Swansea City 1-1 Hull City
When these sides met in the fourth tier of English football 10 years ago, Swansea midfielder Leon Britton featured for the Welsh outfit.
The draw has meant that Hull are unbeaten from their last four trips to Swansea.
However, Steve Bruce's team have won just one of their previous 31 away Premier League encounters.
