Liverpool's owners are reportedly due to warn the club to avoid a repeat of the Luis Suarez affair.

Liverpool's owners are reportedly due to warn the club to avoid a repeat of the Luis Suarez affair.

The Uruguayan striker was charged with racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra and sparked further controversy by refusing to shake the French international's hand during United's 2-1 victory over the Reds on Saturday.

Fenway Sports Group's John W. Henry will be at the club ahead of their Carling Cup final against Cardiff City next week.

He will reportedly warn the club that they cannot afford another PR disaster.

Liverpool's sponsors Standard Chartered and FSG are said to be behind a three-way apology from the club, Suarez and manager Kenny Daglish that was issued on Sunday.

The FA has decided to take no action against Liverpool or Manchester United for events on Saturday, which also included an alleged tunnel bust-up between players and Evra celebrating United's win in front of Suarez.
