Manchester United players 'expecting Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be sacked'

Manchester United's players reportedly believe that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's time in charge of the club is limited following their poor start to the season.

Members of the Manchester United dressing room are reportedly increasingly convinced that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be replaced as manager.

The Red Devils have suffered a torrid start to the new Premier League season, losing at home to Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur by a 9-2 aggregate scoreline and just scraping past Brighton & Hove Albion for their only points of the campaign so far.

Matters off the pitch have also been less than ideal, with United having reportedly failed to sign any of Solskjaer's top four targets during the summer transfer window.

Pressure has begun to build on the shoulders of Solskjaer once again, with the United board thought to be prepared to sack him if results do not improve.

Journalist Duncan Castles told the Transfer Window Podcast that Man United players believe Solskjaer's time could be limited, and that there is an "assumption" in the dressing room that he will be replaced sooner or later.

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with the role should the 20-time champions of England look to make a change.

United are back in action on Saturday when they take on Newcastle United at St James' Park.
