Sporting Lisbon head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly admired by Manchester United, with the 39-year-old being identified as a potential replacement for current Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag.
Despite Man United making their worst-ever start to a Premier League season, picking up only eight points from their first seven matches, it is understood that Ten Hag's job is safe for next weekend's clash with Brentford.
However, if the Dutchman is unable to turn the season around in the coming weeks, then it is highly likely that he will be sacked before the end of the year, with Thomas Tuchel viewed as the favourite to take over.
Tuchel is available immediately, having left Bayern Munich earlier this year, while Graham Potter and current Red Devils assistant manager Ruud van Nistelrooy are also believed to be in the frame.
However, according to GIVEMESPORT, Amorim is also on the shortlist, with the Portuguese widely regarded as one of the best young tacticians in world football.

Man United 'view Amorim as potential Ten Hag replacement'
Amorim was linked with Liverpool and West Ham United earlier this year, but he remained with Sporting, where he has a contract until the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
The Portuguese was in charge of Braga before moving to Sporting in 2020, and he boasts a record of 167 wins, 34 draws and 33 defeats from his 234 matches at the helm.
Amorim has led Sporting to two Primeira Liga titles during his time at the helm, while his side are currently top of the division this season, picking up 24 matches from their opening eight games during a perfect start.
The head coach allegedly sees himself in England in the near future, and he was recently hailed by Man United head coach Bruno Fernandes for his work in Lisbon.

Man United captain Fernandes has lavished praise on Amorim
"Since Amorim took over at Sporting, they have become one of the teams playing the best football." Fernandes told reporters while on international duty with Portugal.
"Whether he can replicate that in England, Spain, or anywhere else remains to be seen, but I am confident that his qualities are evident to everyone."
Ten Hag is set to lead Man United into their next game against Brentford on October 19, and the Red Devils will then take on Fenerbahce, West Ham United and Leicester City in a busy end to the month.
November will begin with a home fixture against Chelsea in the Premier League, before the team tackle PAOK and Leicester ahead of the international break, where Ten Hag's future could again be the subject of discussion if there is not a huge improvement in performances and results.
