The agent of Olympiacos defender Omar Elabdellaoui has claimed that Manchester United have made a late bid to sign his client.
United manager Louis van Gaal has had to contend with a host of injury problems to his full-backs, five of whom are currently sidelined with a variety of fitness complaints.
That has resulted in widespread suggestions that the Dutchman would move for someone to fill that position before the deadline passes at 11pm tonight.
According to his representative Jim Solbakken, 24-year-old Elabdellaoui could fit the bill for Van Gaal.
"The interest of Manchester United is in place. We will see what happens during the night," he told SDNA.
Norway international Elabdellaoui spent time with the Manchester City academy as a youngster, but he left in 2013 without having made a senior appearance for United's rivals.
