West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce: 'Darren Fletcher deal not dead'

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce insists that the club's deal to sign Darren Fletcher from Manchester United "isn't dead yet".

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that the club still have a chance of signing Darren Fletcher from Manchester United.

The Scotland international, who comes to the end of his current contract at Old Trafford in the summer, has spoken to the Hammers regarding a possible move.

However, reports emerged yesterday claiming that a deal had stalled due to United's unwillingness to pay up the remainder of his contract.

When asked about the situation in this morning's press conference, Allardyce said: "It is still a possibility. The move isn't dead yet but we'll see."

Fletcher has been part of the United senior side since 2003.
