Amad Diallo hints that he will be staying with Manchester United this month despite being linked with a loan move exit.

Amad Diallo has hinted that he will be staying with Manchester United this month despite being linked with a loan move away from the 20-time English champions.

The 21-year-old missed the opening months of the 2023-24 campaign due to a knee problem which he suffered during pre-season, but the forward has recently returned to action.

Amad made his return off the bench against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on December 30, but he was not involved against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup last time out due to illness.

The Ivory Coast international is set to return to the squad against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, with Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag confirming that he has overcome the health issue which saw him left out at Wigan.

Amad has been linked with a loan exit, with Championship leaders Leicester City thought to be interested in him, but the forward has suggested that he will be remaining at Old Trafford.

"Working with him is really something that doesn't happen every day," Amad told United Review when asked about Ten Hag.

"He is a person who wants to work hard; even in training and when you're going slowly, he calls you over and tells you to go stronger. I like coaches like that, that let you know that you need to train hard. My relationship with him is a good relationship."

Amad featured for the final 36 minutes of Man United's last league game with Forest, and the Ivorian is now targeting more appearances in the coming weeks.

"Well, to be honest, I wasn't expecting to play so soon. I thought I would maybe be playing for the last 10 or 15 minutes because I was coming back from an injury but the fact that he brought me on at that moment meant that the coach trusted me, and I was really happy to have played in that match," he said.

"I would have preferred us to win that match, yes we lost, but now we'll focus on the next matches.

"We lost that match but now I've come in with more belief and with the desire to help the team as I've always wanted to do, and I want to continue on this path.

"Whenever the coach calls me up or sends me on the pitch, I want to be always present to help the team."

Amad was in impressive form on loan at Sunderland last season, scoring 14 goals and registering four assists in 42 appearances in all competitions for the Black Cats.

The forward made the move to Man United from Atalanta BC in the early stages of 2021, and he has represented the Red Devils on 10 occasions, scoring once and registering one assist in the process.
