Arsenal join Manchester United in race for Everton's Marouane Fellaini?

Arsenal will reportedly battle Manchester United for Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini following the Premier League champions' rejected offer.

Arsenal have reportedly entered the chase to sign Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini after Manchester United's interest was made public yesterday.

The Premier League champions had a joint £28m bid for Fellaini and full-back Leighton Baines rejected by Everton, who described the offer as "derisory and insulting".

While some reports have claimed that United will return to Goodison Park with an improved offer, Arsenal are said to have switched their attention to Fellaini following their rebuffed offer for Newcastle United's Yohan Cabaye, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The Gunners have come under pressure from their fans due to manager Arsene Wenger's failure to secure any big-name targets so far in the transfer window.
