Guillem Balague: 'Nicolas Otamendi wants Premier League move'

Respected Spanish journalist Guillem Balague believes that Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi would find it difficult to turn down a move to Manchester United.

Respected Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has claimed that Valencia's Nicolas Otamendi wants to move to the Premier League.

The 27-year-old joined Valencia from Porto last summer and has been one of the standout centre-backs in La Liga this season.

Valencia sporting director Rufete claimed last week that the Argentine wanted to remain at the Mestalla, but Balague has suggested that the defender's head could be turned by Manchester United, who are said to have a keen interest.

"On Otamendi. Sources close to the player say his dream is to go to the PL and United will continue trying to get him. Valencia pessimistic," Balague tweeted.

Otamendi is contracted to Valencia until 2019.
