Barcelona 'end interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot'

Barcelona reportedly end their pursuit of PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot once and for all, handing a boost to the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Spurs and Arsenal.

Barcelona have reportedly ended their pursuit of in-demand Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot once and for all.

Rabiot will leave the Parc des Princes on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season, but he is yet to agree a deal elsewhere despite being linked with a host of Europe's biggest clubs.

Barcelona had been considered the frontrunners for his signature and were heavily linked with a January move for the Frenchman, only to be put off by his wage demands and irked at his representatives continuing talks with other clubs while in advanced negotiations with them.

The Spanish giants subsequently secured the signature of Ajax youngster Frenkie de Jong instead, and The Mirror reports that they have now taken the possibility of signing Rabiot off the table completely.

The news will come as a boost to the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, all of whom have been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old.

Rabiot has not featured for PSG since December 11, having been banished from the first-team squad amid his contract dispute.
