Chelsea have reportedly switched their attention to Lyon striker Moussa Dembele after conceding defeat in the battle to sign Timo Werner.
The 23-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks, with the Blues and Manchester United said to be interested in the striker.
According to the The Athletic, Chelsea have identified Dembele as their top target after falling behind Liverpool in the race to sign RB Leipzig's Werner.
The report also states that Blues manager Frank Lampard is eager to bolster his options in attack, with Tammy Abraham suffering injury problems while the future of Olivier Giroud remains uncertain.
Dembele has netted 16 times in 27 league appearances for Lyon this season.
