Ernesto Valverde: 'Arturo Vidal could leave Barcelona in January'

Arturo Vidal will reportedly look to leave Barcelona in January with manager Ernesto Valverde suggesting that the club could be open to his departure.

Ernesto Valverde has hinted that Arturo Vidal could leave Barcelona in January with Manchester United reportedly interested in the Chilean international.

Vidal has scored four goals in 14 appearances for Barcelona across all competition this season, but is reportedly frustrated with a lack of playing time.

Speaking ahead of Barcelona's clash with Real Mallorca in La Liga this weekend, Valverde said: "Vidal is our player. We are happy with him. There are so many rumours. We will see tomorrow if he plays or not.

"And when the January transfer window arrives, we will see what happens. There's a lot of things going on in January but it's true that we have a lot of midfielders."

According to The Mirror, Manchester United is a potential destination for Vidal and they have been linked with a £13m move when the January transfer window opens next month.

The report states that United have spoken with Vidal's agent Fernando Felicevich about a possible move.
