Gennaro Gattuso refuses to rule out Leonardo Bonucci exit

AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso refuses to rule out the possibility of rumoured Manchester United and PSG target Leonardo Bonucci leaving the club this summer.

AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso has refused to rule out the possibility of Leonardo Bonucci leaving the club this summer.

Bonucci only joined Milan from Juventus last year, but he is understood to have concerns about the team's quality on the field and financial situation off it.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs thought to be interested in the 31-year-old, and Gattuso insisted that it was up to the player and the board to decide whether he will stay or go this summer.

"I've spoken to Leo, and you need to be honest and say things as they are," Gattuso is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"Leo had a meeting with me, but I am not the club and he needs to talk to the directors.

"It will be up to Leo and the club to decide, but I hope that Bonucci can stay here. I think that when a player expresses a desire, the coach must do all he can to convince him to stay."

Gattuso's own position at the club remains uncertain, with reports suggesting that former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte could take over before the start of the new season.
