Antoine Griezmann: 'Future depends on Diego Simeone'

Amid talk of interest from Manchester United, Antoine Griezmann admits that he would consider his Atletico Madrid future if Diego Simeone left the Vicente Calderon.

Antoine Griezmann has claimed that he would "think about leaving" Atletico Madrid if head coach Diego Simeone departed the Vicente Calderon.

Griezmann signed a new five-year contract with the Spanish outfit in June, but reports linking the Frenchman with a big-money move to Manchester United have gathered pace over the last few days.

The France international, who was the top scorer at Euro 2016 earlier this summer, has netted 57 times in 108 appearances for Atletico since making the move to the Vicente Calderon in the summer of 2014.

Simeone's future is also under the microscope as talk of interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan continues, and Griezmann has hinted that he would consider his future if the Argentine left as manager.

"I called [Simeone] before extending my contract and he confirmed he was staying," Griezmann told Telefoot. "For me, it was important to know that, being at a club with a coach who trusted me.

"I'm happy in Spain and I can still learn a lot from Simeone. I'd only think about leaving if Simeone left for PSG or wherever."

It is understood that Man United, who have won all three of their Premier League games at the start of the new season, are prepared to smash the transfer record once again in order to bring Griezmann to Old Trafford.
