Ander Herrera has reportedly been watched by officials from Juventus during his last two outings for Manchester United.
Widespread speculation has claimed that Juve are in the market for a new midfielder this month, having long been linked with Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan.
However, it is believed that Dortmund have no intention of parting with their Germany international, which has left Juve head coach Massimiliano Allegri to consider alternative options.
According to Tuttosport, one of those on the shortlist is United's Herrera, who joined the Red Devils from Athletic Bilbao for around £28m in 2014.
The report adds that Allegri was present at Old Trafford to see the 26-year-old in action against Chelsea on December 28 and then director Pavel Nedved scouted him when United faced Swansea City five days later.
It is thought that United would demand at least £30m for Herrera.
