Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has warned Sir Alex Ferguson not to put in a bid for defender Grant Hanley.
The Manchester United boss was thought to be impressed by the 20-year-old Scot during the Red Devils' 2-0 win at Ewood Park on Monday.
"He was very complimentary about Grant," said Kean. "He thinks he's good enough to play for Scotland for the next 10 to 15 years, and I agree.
"I hope Fergie's not going to be putting a bid in. I said that to him.
"I told him leave it a bit longer because Grant is only just starting with us."
Hanley signed his first professional contract with Rovers in 2010 following a two-year spell in their youth academy.
