Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis has reportedly agreed to sell Kalidou Koulibaly to Manchester United if they hand over £74m.
United are rumoured to have been in constant contact with the 28-year-old in the hope of getting a deal in place ahead of the next transfer window.
Agreeing terms with Napoli has proved to be a major stumbling block for clubs in recent windows, however, with the Serie A side said to have already rejected numerous bids of more than £100m.
That could change this summer, though, with Italian publication La Repubblica reporting that De Laurentiis is open to getting Koulibaly's £5.2m-a-year contract off the books to ease the financial burden on the club.
Koulibaly, also touted as a target for Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, has made 233 appearances for Napoli during his six seasons at Stadio San Paulo.
