Leicester City will battle Manchester United for the signature of Chelsea defender Reece James, according to a report.

Leicester City are reportedly preparing to battle Manchester United for the signature of Chelsea defender Reece James in this summer's transfer window.

James - yet to make his first-team debut for Chelsea - spent the 2018-19 campaign on loan at Wigan Athletic, making 45 Championship appearances for the Latics.

Manchester United are said to be considering a move for the 19-year-old ahead of the new season.

However, according to The Sun, Leicester are also keen on signing the teenager, who could be available for £15m in this summer's transfer window.

James - named in the Championship Team of the Year for his strong form at Wigan - only signed a new four-year deal at Stamford Bridge in 2018.
