Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of completing a deal for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
The Germany international, who has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield over the last few months, is widely expected to leave his Bundesliga club at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
A number of sides, including Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea, have been linked with his services, but according to Sport, Liverpool are now closing in on a deal.
The report claims that Inter Milan recently approached Leipzig to determine whether they would be able to sign the German ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
However, the Italian giants were allegedly informed that the 24-year-old's move to Anfield was 'very close' as Jurgen Klopp's side look to tie up a deal before this summer's transfer window officially opens for business.
Werner has been in impressive form at club level during the current season, scoring 27 times and registering 12 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.
