Liverpool will reportedly not move for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Raul Jimenez as the coronavirus pandemic threatens serious financial implications for clubs.

Liverpool have supposedly decided against making a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez during the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old has enjoyed another stellar campaign with Nuno Espirito Santo's side this season - registering 22 goals from 44 appearances across all competitions.

Liverpool are one of several sides to have been credited with an interest in Jimenez recently, but according to the Liverpool Echo's Blood Red podcast, the Reds are not prepared to make an offer for the Mexico international.

Transfer dealings are set to be significantly affected by the coronavirus pandemic during the summer transfer window, and Jurgen Klopp's side are unlikely to make any major signings amid this period of financial uncertainty.

Liverpool had been heavily linked with a swoop for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner but supposedly decided against paying the German's £53m release clause - thus allowing Chelsea to swoop in and secure a deal for the forward.

Real Madrid, Manchester United and Juventus have all been credited with an interest in Jimenez, who still has three years left to run on his current Wolves deal.
