Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign Hellas Verona centre-back Marash Kumbulla.
The 20-year-old has broken into the Verona first team this season, making 17 Serie A appearances to help the promoted side up to sixth in the table after 23 games.
Kumbulla's performances are understood to have attracted interest from a number of big clubs around Europe, with Manchester United and Everton linked to a January move.
Manchester City are also reportedly monitoring his progress, and Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Liverpool are the latest Premier League side to show an interest.
Verona are expected to demand a fee of at least £25m for the Albanian, but that price could be driven up by a bidding war with the likes of Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund also linked.
Only the top three teams in Serie A have conceded fewer goals than Verona this season, helping to put the club on course for their highest league finish since 1986-87.
