Liverpool want to beat Manchester United to Yves Bissouma?

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma emerges as a potential January transfer target for Liverpool, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly considering making an offer for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma during the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old joined Brighton from Lille in 2018 and has made 69 appearances for the Seagulls in all competitions, including 12 Premier League outings this season.

According to ESPN, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has identified Bissouma as a potential replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, who could leave the Reds on a free transfer next summer.

The report claims that Manchester United are also admirers, meaning that the Premier League champions could launch a bid next month in order to avoid potentially missing out on his signature.

Graham Potter's side are believed to value the Mali international at £30m, which is around double what they paid for him ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

Bissouma, who is also said to be wanted by Monaco, has a contract at the Amex until June 2023.
