Manchester United reportedly had a €10m (£8.5m) bid for Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose rejected by the Spanish club on the final evening of the January transfer window.
The Red Devils were linked with a number of forwards at the start of 2020 before eventually signing Odion Ighalo on loan for the remainder of the 2019-20 campaign.
Willian Jose had been mentioned as a possible incoming in the latter stages of the window, and according to Mundo Deportivo, United submitted a €10m (£8.5m) offer.
The report, though, claims that Sociedad deemed the bid to be 'absolutely unacceptable' and quickly informed the 20-time English champions that he was not for sale at that price.
The 28-year-old has scored eight times in 23 La Liga appearances for his Basque club this season.
Tottenham Hotspur were also credited with an interest in January as they attempted to sign a replacement for the injured Harry Kane, who underwent hamstring surgery last month.
