Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has denied suggestions that Manchester United have approached Sergio Aguero over the possibility of a summer move to Old Trafford.
Aguero will be leaving Manchester City when his contract expires at the end of June, and a number of clubs are said to be preparing offers for the experienced forward.
A recent report claimed that Man United have already approached the 32-year-old to register their interest.
However, according to Romano, who took to social media to provide an update on the situation, the rumours linking the Argentina international with a surprise move to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are '100% fake'.
Aguero is Man City's all-time leading goalscorer with 257, but the attacker has only managed three goals in 14 appearances for the Citizens during the 2020-21 campaign.
Barcelona, Juventus, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have also all been linked with the South American.
