Manchester United will reportedly have to offload some players during this summer's transfer window if they want spend big ahead of next season.

Manchester United will reportedly have to offload some players during this summer's transfer window if they want to launch a spending spree ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

The Red Devils completed the signing of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon in January, while they spent big on defenders Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire last summer.

The 20-time English champions are being tipped to enjoy another active transfer window, but according to The Athletic, there will have to be a clear-out at Old Trafford before new players can arrive.

The report claims that receiving less revenue due to their Champions League absence means that sales will be important during this summer's transfer window.

United allegedly currently have a summer budget of £100m, but the figure would be boosted should the likes of Chris Smalling, Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba move on.

Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira, meanwhile, could both allegedly be sold in this summer's transfer window, having struggled to make their mark this season.
