Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly eager to sign Bayern Munich loanee James Rodriguez from parent club Real Madrid in the summer.

Manchester United have reportedly rekindled their interest in Colombia forward James Rodriguez.

The Red Devils were earmarked as potential suitors of the player last summer, when he wanted to leave Real Madrid.

Rodriguez went on to join Bayern Munich on a two-year loan spell, and the 26-year-old has rediscovered his form and emerged as one of the Bundesliga's standout players.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, United boss Jose Mourinho wants to sign several stars to a lead a new project with Rodriguez on his agenda.

The report adds that Alexis Sanchez, who recently joined the Red Devils, has been trying to persuade Rodriguez to consider Old Trafford as a future destination.

Romelu Lukaku revealed on Sunday that United are looking to make widescale reinforcements in the summer as a response to what has been a mediocre season so far.
