Manchester United fringe players facing axe?

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson ponders whether to sell a number of his squad players, according to reports.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is thought to be considering selling a number of his reserve players following their disappointing performance against Crystal Palace on Wednesday.

The 69-year-old made wholesale changes for the side's 2-1 defeat to the Championship team in the Carling Cup quarter-final.

Players including Paul Pogba, Jonny Evans, Tomasz Kuszczak, Darren Gibson and Dimitar Berbatov could be shown the exit at Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.

The Red Devils boss apologised to the club's supporters following their cup defeat.
