Manchester United manager David Moyes will reportedly announce this afternoon that striker Wayne Rooney will be staying at Old Trafford.
The Scotsman is due to hold his first press conference as the new United boss today after replacing Sir Alex Ferguson at the helm following the 71-year-old's retirement at the end of last season.
While there have been plenty of rumours that Rooney could look for pastures new, it is understood that following talks between the striker, Moyes, chief executive Ed Woodward and Rooney's representative Paul Stretford, a decision to stay put has been made, according to The Express.
Reports have claimed that the club have accepted that Rooney did not ask to leave the Red Devils during a meeting with Ferguson in April, despite the retired manager saying otherwise.
The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have been linked with the striker.
