Anthony Martial has insisted that he did not refuse to be a part of the Manchester United squad for Saturday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa.
The France international has told the Red Devils that he wants to leave this month and has not been involved for the club since signalling a desire to move on.
Following the 2-2 draw with Villa on Saturday, Man United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick said that Martial had refused to be included in the travelling party for the match at Villa Park.
However, the 26-year-old has insisted that he would have been involved against Steven Gerrard's side had he been picked by the manager.
"I will never refuse to play a match for Manchester United. I've been here for seven years and I never disrespected and will never disrespect the club and the fans," Martial wrote on Instagram.
The Frenchman, who has been strongly linked with Sevilla, has only scored once in 10 appearances for the 20-time English champions during the 2021-22 campaign.
