La Liga president Javier Tebas does not expect Erling Braut Haaland or Kylian Mbappe to ply their trade in Spain's top flight next season.

Kylian Mbappe and Erling Braut Haaland are not likely to secure moves to La Liga for the 2021-22 campaign, according to the league's president Javier Tebas.

With the contract of Paris Saint-Germain forward Mbappe due to expire in less than 18 months' time, Real Madrid in particular have been frequently linked with a swoop for the World Cup-winning Frenchman.

Los Blancos, as well as Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City, are all believed to be keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund's Haaland as well, but Tebas does not expect any audacious bids from Spanish sides to bear fruit amid the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to reporters, the La Liga president said: "It is very unlikely that these players can be in La Liga. I wish they could come, but we have to be realistic. I don't think either of these two players will be [signed this summer]."

Haaland could be available for a figure of £68m next summer due to his release clause, but an intense bidding war - supposedly being led by Chelsea - is expected to take place for his signature in the upcoming window.

Meanwhile, PSG are still hopeful of renewing the contract of Mbappe, who came off the bench to bag a brace in Wednesday's 3-0 Coupe de France triumph over Lille.
