Sevilla's sporting director Monchi hints that Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is set to stay with the club next season.

Sevilla's sporting director Monchi has hinted that Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is set to stay with the club next season.

Ramos has been linked with a potential return to Los Nervionenses, where he progressed through the club's youth academy and made his senior debut in 2004.

The centre-back, who joined Real in 2005, is yet to agree a new deal to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu and is set to leave the club when his contract expires later this month.

However, Monchi has suggested that Ramos is in negotiations to stay put in the Spanish capital for a 16th campaign.

"Sergio Ramos is a Real Madrid player. I think he is in talks about staying with Real Madrid. That's all I can say," the Spaniard told Sky Italia.

As well as Sevilla, Manchester City, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have all been credited with an interest in Ramos, who was left out of Luis Enrique's Spain squad for this summer's Euro 2020 tournament.

The 35-year-old has made 671 appearances for Real Madrid across all competitions, scoring 101 goals and winning 22 trophies with the club.
