Sunderland's David Moyes confirms interest in Marouane Fellaini, Adnan Januzaj

Sunderland manager David Moyes confirms interest in Manchester United pair Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj.

Sunderland manager David Moyes has confirmed that he is interested in signing Manchester United pair Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj.

The Scotsman, who was appointed by the Black Cats nine days ago, worked with both players during his 10-month spell as United boss.

After being named as Sir Alex Ferguson's successor in 2013, Moyes signed Fellaini from Everton for £27.5m, but the midfielder has since struggled to hold down a regular starting spot.

Januzaj featured regularly in Moyes's squad at Old Trafford, but last season under then-manager Louis van Gaal, the Belgian was sent out on loan to Borussia Dortmund - a spell that was cut short in January.

It was reported over the weekend that the Black Cats are planning to launch a double swoop for the pair, and in his first official press conference as Sunderland boss, Moyes confirmed his interest to reporters.

"If any of those good players want to join me I'd be happy to have them," said Moyes. "They're excellent players. We're interested but I'm sure there's a load of other clubs that are as well.

"We're interested in lots of good players. You have to have a realistic view. There'll be some players we can attract just now and some players we can't.

"We'll try and get the ones we can and the ones who want to come here and start on the new journey we're on."

It is believed that new United boss Jose Mourinho is willing to let Fellaini leave for around £20m, despite having him in his plans for the upcoming season, while Januzaj has reportedly been told that he can find a new club in order to gain more minutes.

Meanwhile, Moyes has told reporters that he intends to bring "stability" to a club that has hired seven managers in the last five years.
