Discussions between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur regarding a swap deal for Nani and Andros Townsend reportedly broke down earlier this week.
Nani's future at Old Trafford has been under scrutiny for a several weeks now, with a number of Italian clubs said to be keen on in his services.
Spurs were also interested, but following talks with their Premier League counterparts that also included the possibility of England international Townsend moving in the opposite direction, no agreement was reached, according to the Daily Mail.
While Townsend is now expected to remain at White Hart Lane, it is believed that Nani could still leave United before tonight's 11pm deadline, with AC Milan thought to be monitoring his situation closely.
