A leading bookmaker has decided to slashed the odds regarding Manchester United's potential signing of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
United have been keen to sign a new centre-back since the start of the summer, but Jose Mourinho was unsuccessful in bringing in any of his desired targets ahead of the new season.
Mourinho has now been replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and although it remains to be seen whether the caretaker boss will be given money to spend, the Senegalese is being tipped to make the January switch to Old Trafford.
Paddy Power have slashed their odds from 33/1 to 6/1, with spokesperson Amy Jones being quoted by The Mirror as saying: "We've been inundated with bets on [Kalidou] Koulibaly joining the club as soon as this month, and he's now five times more likely as he was before the game last night."
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has previously played down the possibility of a transfer taking place at the midway point of the campaign.
