Pep Guardiola dismisses Angel di Maria reports

Pep Guardiola insists that Bayern Munich are not interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Angel di Maria.

Pep Guardiola has dismissed suggestions that Bayern Munich are interested in signing Angel di Maria from Manchester United this summer.

Di Maria struggled to produce his best form last season after United paid a British-record £59.7m to sign him from Real Madrid, and recent reports have suggested that Bayern could decide to launch a move for the Argentine.

"United did not pay so much money for nothing, he is a great player," Guardiola told reporters. "Although such transfer fees are sometimes really crazy."

When the Bayern boss was asked whether he was interested in the midfielder, he told reporters: "No."

Di Maria is currently with his Argentina teammates preparing for Saturday's Copa America final against Chile.
