Real Madrid reportedly view Sevilla defender Jules Kounde as a possible replacement for Raphael Varane as the Frenchman continues to be linked with a move away from the Bernabeu.
Chelsea and Manchester United are both believed to be in the hunt to sign Varane, who could be sold during this summer's transfer window, with his contract due to expire next June.
According to Marca, Zinedine Zidane's side view Kounde as a candidate to replace the World Cup winner ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
The 22-year-old, who has also been linked with Chelsea and Man United, has been in strong form for Sevilla this term, scoring four times and providing one assist in 41 appearances in all competitions.
Kounde has a contract at Estadio Ramon until June 2024, but there is believed to be a £68m release clause written into the defender's current deal.
Madrid have already allegedly secured a deal for Bayern Munich's David Alaba on a free transfer.
