Manchester United close to sealing Daley Blind, Nigel de Jong deals?

Louis van Gaal is close to bringing Netherlands internationals Daley Blind and Nigel de Jong to Manchester United, according to reports.

Daley Blind and Nigel de Jong are both close to completing transfers to Manchester United, according to reports.

The duo were part of Louis van Gaal's Netherlands World Cup squad and started their nation's penalty-shootout loss to Argentina in the semi-final of the tournament in Brazil this summer.

Their performances at the World Cup have tempted Van Gaal to make them both part of his rebuilding job at Old Trafford, the Metro claims.

The suggestion is that De Jong can be coaxed away from AC Milan for a nominal fee, but Blind's transfer from Ajax may require a more substantial sum of money.

Angel di Maria will apparently soon become United's record signing, with £56m the fee being quoted by a number of sources this morning for the midfielder's prospective move from European champions Real Madrid.
