Manchester United are reportedly in pursuit of Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus ahead of a possible summer move to Old Trafford.
The German international, who reportedly has a buyout clause worth in the region of £28m, is widely expected to leave the Bundesliga outfit at the end of the season.
According to Goal.com, United officials made contact with Reus's representatives over the weekend to make the player aware of their interest, but the Red Devils are likely to face competition from numerous clubs, including Spanish giants Real Madrid.
United were relatively quiet in the January transfer window as ex-Barcelona goalkeeper and free agent Victor Valdes was the only high-profile player to join the club.
