Report: Ivan Rakitic rejected Manchester United, Arsenal in January

A report claims that Manchester United and Arsenal both failed in January moves for Barcelona's Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

Manchester United and Arsenal both reportedly failed in January moves for Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

The Croatian joined Barca from Sevilla last summer and despite a bright start, faded in the couple of months leading up to the winter transfer window.

According to The Express, both United and Arsenal tried to sign the midfielder last month, but the player rejected the interest.

The 26-year-old has since regained his spot in the first XI at the Camp Nou, however, with his form contributing to Barca's excellent run.

Rakitic has scored four times in 30 games this season.
