Report: Wesley Sneijder to join Manchester United in January

A report claims that Wesley Sneijder will leave Galatasaray for Manchester United in January.

Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder will reportedly join Manchester United on a free transfer in the January transfer window.

The experienced Dutchman has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, with former Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal now in the hotseat.

The 30-year-old recently revealed that he had not been paid for three months, placing his long-term future with the Turkish side in doubt.

According to The Metro, United are confident of acquiring the playmaker on a short-term contract at the start of 2015.

Sneijder has played for Ajax, Real Madrid and Inter Milan during a glittering playing career.
