Reported Manchester United transfer target Kevin Strootman is reportedly prepared to commit his future to Roma by signing a new contract.
The Dutch midfielder's current deal at the Stadio Olimpico is due to expire in the summer of 2016.
However, the 25-year-old will soon extend his stay in the Italian capital until the end of the 2019-20 campaign, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report adds that in a further attempt to keep hold of his services, Roma officials plan to offer Strootman the captaincy of the club.
Strootman arrived at Roma from PSV Eindhoven for £15m in 2013.
