Manchester United are attempting to sign Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale and are willing to allow David de Gea to move in the opposite direction, according to reports.
Bale is in his second season at Real Madrid following a world-record transfer in 2013 from Tottenham Hotspur, but he has been linked with a return to England in recent weeks.
The Mirror says that Madrid have already informed United that they intend to sign De Gea in the summer, and United value the keeper at £50m.
De Gea is out of contract in 2016, while the report says that United are willing to let him go to Spain as long as they get Bale in return, and they are prepared to table an offer of De Gea plus £50m to get the deal done.
Bale has scored 14 goals in 28 games for Madrid this season.
