Report: Louis van Gaal not interested in Nemanja Vidic

Reports claim that Manchester United are not interested in re-signing Inter Milan defender Nemanja Vidic in January.

Manchester United have no intention of re-signing out-of-favour Inter Milan defender Nemanja Vidic in January, according to reports.

The Serbian centre-half is said to be unsettled at San Siro following a Bosman move to the Italian giants in the summer, but his agent rejected suggestions that a return to Old Trafford was on the cards.

Nevertheless, speculation continues to mount that United will look to the 33-year-old, who spent eight years at the club, to solve their injury worries in defence.

However, manager Louis van Gaal is not interested in the veteran but has earmarked moves for Borussia Dortmund ace Mats Hummels and Atletico Madrid stalwart Diego Godin, according to The Mirror.

Vidic, who has found himself used sparingly by Roberto Mancini, helped the Red Devils to five Premier League crowns and a Champions League title in a trophy-laden stint with the English giants.
