Barcelona could send French centre-back Samuel Umtiti on loan for the second half of the 2020-21 campaign, according to a report.

Samuel Umtiti could reportedly leave Barcelona on loan during the January transfer window.

The France international made his first appearance of the 2020-21 campaign against Juventus on Tuesday night, featuring as a substitute in his side's 3-0 loss.

Umtiti had been on the sidelines with knee issues, but he could now be given regular minutes ahead of the winter transfer window as Gerard Pique is out with a long-term injury.

According to Sport, Barca want to build up the centre-back's game time in the coming weeks before sending him out on loan for the second half of the 2020-21 campaign.

A number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United, have previously been linked with the World Cup winner, who was a regular during his first two seasons at Camp Nou.

Umtiti is believed to earn in the region of £75,000 a week at Barca and still has two and a half years left to run on his contract with Ronald Koeman's side.
