Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provides update on Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that the Red Devils are "still in talks" with Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes over potential new contracts.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that the Red Devils are "still in talks" with Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes over potential new contracts at Old Trafford.

Both players will see their current deals with United expire at the end of the season, and Chong in particular continues to be linked with a move away from the club.

Neither was involved against Club Brugge in the Europa League on Thursday, with Solskjaer revealing that the pair instead featured in an Under-19s clash with the Belgian outfit on Wednesday.

"Well we're still in talks with them. Tahith scored [in a 2-0 win over Brugge Under-19s]. He'd rather play a game than sit in the stands here. He's just making sure that he's ready when he gets a chance.

"He played really well against Wolverhampton in the FA Cup and I'm very pleased with him. The boys have got a great attitude. They're absolutely top-class boys and we're doing what we can to keep them because in a few years we can see them becoming very, very good players."

Chong, who has allegedly rejected an approach from Barcelona, has appeared on eight occasions for United's first team this season, while Gomes has featured six times.
